“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?
The tale is of the thirteenth century.
Brought together by their destinies, Shams of Tabriz, a roaming dervish and Rumi, a great scholar followed by hundreds, share an inseparable companionship. Their union however, when made unwelcome by the world, leads to a forced separation in a way which marks the history with an epitome of true love to be remembered for centuries.
While reading the above story in the book ‘Sweet Blasphemy’, Ella who is a forty year old unhappy housewife realizes her own desire to love and be loved again. Her need for something new lands her a job as a reader for a literary agent and that’s how ‘Sweet Blasphemy’ comes as her first assignment.
Drawn by the pure depth of the forty rules of love that the wandering dervish has shared in it, Ella starts craving to meet the person behind the book who has now made her so determined to embark on a daring journey that her life will change forever, unfolding another love story in another century.
An amazing and gripping read. It has changed a part of my personality entirely. It is not at all a typical love story. Rather it shares some highly deep yet simple concepts of living and attaining true love to help us elevate ourselves in our own eyes.
Highly recommended to fiction lover!
