“Walk slowly and you’ll go far.”

The people of Japan believe that everyone has an IKIGAI – a reason to jump out of the bed every morning. But why do most of us not have a daily motivation for the same? yes, because of the lack of IKIGAI.

IKIGAI, which means having a sense of purpose is a wonderful self-help book inspired by the lives of those living on Okinawa island of Japan, who went on to live for more than 100 years and are still leading an impressively active life.

After interviewing these centenarians, what the author found is that their secret to a long and happy life is nothing special but a sense of purpose towards something or someone which motivates them to live happily for more than a century.

The book shares some great concepts that keep Japanese people from over eating and help them stay fit without having to do any high intensity exercises.

Not just this, after reading this book you will be in a much strong position to manage your modern life stress, improve your food intact, learn to keep lifelong friends, all of which are the key secrets for a long life. And finally, it will hopefully help you recognize your own IKIGAI to motivate you to get out of the bed every morning!!

My Words

For me IKIGAI is one of the best self-help books I have ever read. Especially the centenarians that I mentioned above, their way of living is just inspiring. Their stories will teach you the real way to live every single day to its fullest. The book is not at all something worth missing. So go ahead  and start reading it to discover your unique purpose, IKIGAI!

After reading it, share with me your experience and thoughts about the book!

Spread the love
